The overall record wave is 23.4 metres.The graphic shows today’s waves and their height set against a double decker bus.The record wave was more than four times the height of a double decker bus.For record purposes, Met Eireann records ‘Significant Wave Height’ which is the term given to the average height of the highest third of the waves over a period. The incident happened in the early hours of Sunday morning on the forecourt of a filling station at Ludden.A physical altercation is believed to have taken place between a number of males between 4am and 5am that morning.Two males received hospital treatment for their injuries as a result of this altercation.Gardai are appealing to anybody who may have been travelling along the road around that time and who may have observed the incident or who may have dashcam footage to contact them in Buncrana on 074-9320540.
