Jurgen Klopp’s side were serenaded with chants of “we’re gonna win the league” in the final minutes, an assessment it is virtually impossible to argue against as the Reds asserted their superiority in typically ruthless fashion to extend their lead over Manchester City. West Ham stuck at their task well enough but were outclassed and David Moyes will need to rally his troops quickly as they sit above the relegation zone on goal difference ahead of Saturday’s crucial battle with fellow-strugglers Brighton. Roberto Firmino and Salah combined to release Andrew Robertson for Liverpool’s first clear chance but the left-back could only lift a weak shot over Lukasz Fabianski which Diop mopped up as it drifted wide. He was just assured just after the half-hour mark. Trent Alexander-Arnold whipped a cross into Firmino, whose first touch was sublime. The Brazilian found Origi with a square ball in the box and as he wriggled to turn goalwards eight yards out, Diop chopped him down. Salah made no mistake from 12 yards, firing low to Fabianksi’s left as he dived the other way. West Ham missed an excellent chance to draw level less than five minutes into the second period as Robert Snodgrass fed Declan Rice, who crossed for Lanzini. The 26-year-old was unmarked in the middle of the penalty area but only managed a tame effort which barely reached Alisson. The Hammers then had a corner shortly afterwards as they attempted to generate momentum but instead they conceded a second goal. Virgil Van Dijk headed the ball away and as Mark Noble let the ball bounce, Masuaku wasn’t strong enough on Salah and suddenly the break was on as Henderson released the Egyptian. With the outside of his left foot, Salah bent a superb pass in behind the Hammers defence and Oxlade-Chamberlain showed strength to bounce off Lanzini before steering a shot past Fabianski. Snodgrass almost replied instantly with a snapshot after Georginio Wijnaldum gifted possession to Lanzini but the Scotland international’s effort was turned behind by Alisson, low to his right. Lanzini’s night ended in unedifying fashion as cheers from a sizeable number of home fans greeted his 69th-minute substitution and they almost had something more positive to shout about when Rice’s shot was beaten away by Alisson. Alexander-Arnold tried to react to the rebound but only succeeding in diverting the ball back past his goalkeeper and off his right-hand upright. Salah hit the post at the other end as Liverpool sought to add further gloss to the scoreline but instead they had to settle for a two-goal margin that only makes their first title win in 30 years all the more inevitable.Tags: Alex Oxlade-ChamberlainJurgen KloppLiverpoolMohamed SalahWest Ham
PRESIDENT of the Guyana Volleyball Federation, Levi Nedd, is optimistic that the national U-21 male team can bring back the title when they compete in the third annual Inter-Guiana Volleyball Tournament scheduled for this weekend in French Guiana. Guyana’s male team won the competition in 2018, but lost due to “bad officiating” in the 2019 final.Nedd had noted that some of the calls were against the visiting side and stated that the technical official of the French Guiana Volleyball Federation also acknowledged it and promised to get overseas officials for the next series. Despite the calls, Guyana, who had defeated both French Guiana and Suriname in the preliminary rounds, had taken the home team to five games in their best-in-three championship clash.MORE CONTROLAccording to Nedd, who also functions as a coach, the male team have improved this year, despite their limited training time.“They have become more mature this year; as much as the training time was limited they have gelled as a team.”Additionally some 10 of the 12 players who participated in the previous competition are again in the side.“The male players are a strong unit; they are strong in their attacks. They have improved from last year in ball control and in their tactical decision-making during games.”Guyana are also travelling with a female team, but historically they have not fared well against the more developed teams from French Guiana and Suriname.“The girls have tried their best; they have improved and will continue to develop.”One of the setbacks is that the National U-21 female team lost the services of one of their leading attackers, Cherry-Ann Fraser, who is with the West Indies team for the Women’s T20 World Cup.Several persons assisted the squad with their overall expenses, including Spready’s Bakery in Port Mourant, Natasha’s Travel Service in New Amsterdam, Punai’s Pharmacy and Ignatius Robinson. The side is scheduled to leave Guyana on Wednesday via land for Suriname before making their way into French Guiana.

Though for the past five seasons, this has been the season with the most gap between 1st and 2nd positions after the 11th week. Also with the most goal per match ratio, goal difference that proves that Pep’s team could be on their route of becoming the EPL CHAMPION. 1stManchester City118122691725 2ndChelsea1062220 5thLiverpool11542+419 3rdTottenham Hotspur11722+1323 3rdManchester City1163222121021 4thWest Ham United115331914518 3rdManchester City117312510+1524 3rdLiverpool1062220 Related 2ndSouthampton 118122351825 2ndArsenal118122181325 PositionTeam PWDLPTS 1stLiverpool118213014+1626 4thManchester United11632158721 1stManchester City111010+3131 2ndManchester United11722+1823 PositionTeamPWDLGFGAGDPTS 4thChelsea11713+922 3rdLeicester City116412319422 4thArsenal117312411+1324 With an eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League, Manchester City brilliantly created a record of the best start to a season by any team in the history of the league. The Citizens have drawn just one of their opening 11 matches of the season, winning their last nine scoring an average of 3goal per match. That change precipitated a record-breaking 11-match unbeaten that sent them to the Premier League’s Summit and there’s a possibility of no looking back. They are one of the few clubs in Europe to boast of an unbeaten streak this season.Indeed, Pep Guardiola Team have been topping the table ever since their city rival; Manchester United draw a game against Liverpool.Spurs, Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal will try making a decent fist of challenging Manchester City stronghold on top spot but history suggests the leader were never going to give it up easily yet.Stats from five seasons now have it that a club that tops till the end of the Christmas fixtures have always had their way to win the League. Yet we are still far away from Christmas with several mouth watery fixtures involving the table leader, Manchester City. With other contenders hoping ahead to Manchester City key fixtures against United (December 10) and Tottenham (December 16), the possibility of the citizens obtaining less than the maximum point is high but with their current form of defeating Liverpool 5-0, Chelsea 1-0 and Arsenal 3-1, we don’t need any more evidence.
